Shut Up

Here is a photo from my first roll with my Olympus Trip 35. This is the only one i like from it.
This is Rob, he sings and plays guitar in our band, here he is sulking after a show in a 24-hour petrol station/shop.
The light leaks were a result of being an idiot and forgetting to wind back, lost 3 pictures...
ISO 200, f2.8, 1/40th im guessing

A washed up fishing net

Good for remembering things that you try to forget

o! When I was in Germany earlier this year, visiting my gran, I found and was given an old camera(tah, Oma) . A lovely old Agfa Click 2.From what I can gather, this is a plastic toy camera, medium format (120 Film), made in Germany during the 1950's, not unlike the ever popular Holgas and Diana's barring the light leaks and stuff. Anyway. So when i came back home I dug through the fridges in the backyard and found two rolls of b/w 120 film, both expired in 1992 (typical of my dad) but i was eager! So i loaded one and got at. Camera feels wierd, quite chunky in my hands but still nice. So i took some photos. Some at the beach at Pringle Bay one day, some at Strand, some in Cape Town and some of Pedro the cat. Then i forgot to have them processed. Then i remembered! Long story short, here are a few of them which i quite like. Just getting to know the camera but i like these photos. For a better look (im not so good with blogger yet) check out my flickr.

My Favourite one, Strand Beach, I love how eerie it looks

Rob. This looks like it could have been 40 years ago!

Brzezinka/Birkenau July 2008

If you look hard you can see an old man riding a horsecart (a panje) in the background, to the left of the silver car. A very strange place to be

the world of light

another drawing, a newer one

pravda!

i know nothing about cyrillic/slavic languages. at best i know bits and pieces of the cyrillic alphabet and their roman cousins, but thats about as far as it goes. i do however think it is beautiful and that they are interesting to draw and compare. i was doodling today and saw these letters on a poster in a magazine. so i copied them down, feeling my way around the foreign shapes and imagining what they mean. maybe someone could tell me? its probably something really mundane, so for now ill pretend that its not.

On the topic of languages, how funny is the the word yacht. Reads like a good candidate for a swear word or some sort of nice onomatpoeia or something you would yell out of your window when you are happy.

listen to turbonegro! deathpunk!

pull a diamond from your sleep

a photo from germany, of my gran's house.
it's on a small hill above a town called Handzell,
about 30 km out of Augsburg.
She lives alone in this house, she's 92, which her parents built
just before the war as a weekend getaway place, which
became a forest cafe (Wald Kafe) and later when the bombing
in Augsburg got intense they moved out here. It's beautiful here,
one of, if not my favourite place in the whole wide world that
I have seen so far. I want to live here one day
