Sundays

Hello friends
Hit a bit of a frustrating time a few weeks ago.
Got very irritatable and swore alot.
So i went walking in the mountains behind town
Walked down this freezing, wet path
Climbed up onto a trainHung around in these huts that littered the placeTook some photographs
And saw some twisted metal laying around

I bought some proper film yesterday. Im sick of wierd, untrustworthy Superia.

Here's to the band that never was, but was the best we ever knew

Stronger Than during their last ever live performance at the Hidden Cellar
on the 30th of January 2009. They were always entertaining, often fun and sometimes just plain awe-inspiring. What a bummer that they couldn't have stuck it out,
they really had something going towards the end of it.
Taken with my Nikon Fm, probably at f2.8, 1/30th of a second, no flash, no post processing on Fuji Superia 400.

(p.s. If you get the joke with the post-title, mail me for your awesome secret prize!)

paths

From my Agfa Click 2. I ran a roll of 35mm film through it. The shop where i had it scanned obviously cropped these for me, so i can't show the full frame shots (yet!) but anyway. Im quite pleased with how these came out. This one is taken from my bedroom

Two kids walking home one afternoon in the Bo-Kaap. I was sitting in my car, about to leave when i took this one. The colours aren't half bad. Im quite keen to see how it would like with the full frame

Strange picture, im not sure exactly what is going on? I like it though, feels very very dreamy. All of these pictures have a very dreamlike something about them. I like that

All the work is done by friday

Design Indaba is over! It was hectic, really really busy, but really rad.
Met some cool people, hopefully getting some new projects to work on, ate tasty wraps and just had an all round really really good experience.

I had some pictures developed this morning, the film scans where abit sketchy with some dubious scratches and dust and quite blue but hey?
It was quite cheap so I'm not complaining too much.

A picture from a ride in january on which Lynn invited me along. It's really rad, just a ramshackle bunch of people getting together on the last friday morning of the month to go for a ride around town. No weird leotards and stuff, just people who like riding bikes, road bikes, single speed, fixed or whatever. This happens in cities all around the world on the last friday of every month, it's called Critical Mass and I think you should join in next time

the easy life

Two more leaky pictures for today.

Maybe I will

Dusted and Dried

These are some pictures I had developed recently.
I was quite happy with the way that they came out.
Strange though, I have no idea where the light leaks are coming from?
I took these over the period of a month so it was nice to get them back and remember all the different times, places and people which they reminded me of.
I think that is probably my favourite thing about film is the the role that time plays throughout the whole process. From choosing a film speed, then a shutter speed, then the time it takes to finish the roll, then the time it takes to gather the cash to be able to develop a roll (sometimes longer than needed), then they wait for the processing and prints.
The anticipation and what have you. The best part is forgetting what you took pictures of and then getting 36 or 24 bits of memory and surprises.
Sort of like a pleasant flashback from drugs or something, but without having to grow dreads.
It's nice. I like it.
More soon!
